The history of Martha?s, one of the oldest family owned Port wine wineries in Douro, started in the first quarter of the XVIII, specifically in 1727, when the second generation of the family embarked on the decisive adventure of commercialize grapes from the mythic vineyards of the Douro Valley, a beautiful landscape that is considered World Heritage by UNESCO. The knowledge and passion for the wine and for the land has been transmitted during the many generations so far, which allow Martha?s to produce premium wines with extreme elegance, from some of the best grapes in the region.
It has deep tawny color, with great complexity of nutty and toasty aromas, and a great full-bodied lingering finish. Served slightly chilled, it?s perfect on its own, or combined with pies and rich desserts. 10 years in oak barrels.
