The winery structures on the estate date back to the 1880s and bear tremendous historical significance. The original stone barrel cellar, constructed by Eli Sheppard in 1887 for Madrone Vineyards, is still in use and represents a vital piece of Sonoma Valley winemaking history. In 1998, a new, state-of-the-art winery was added to the estate. Together, this blend of old and new allows our award-winning winemaking team to craft the finest wines while maintaining Valley of the Moon?s rich heritage and sense of place.
