The presentation of the Domaine Vrignaud: Winemakers for five generations, the family works Vrignaud, makes wine and sells the wines of the property in the town of Fontenay-pres-Chablis. The first vines were planted in 1955 and today give our most prestigious wine Chablis premier cru Fourchaume Vieilles Vignes. Marketing began in 1991 when Joelle and Michel decided to sell some of their bottled wine, they start with 3500 bottles per year. In 1999, William returns to the field after graduation. The same year, the new winery is built and in 2000, the space of storage and labeling. In 2008, the winery was reorganized and a new plant for the harvest is established. At present, the Domaine Vrignaud sells over half of its production in bottles. The field of 19 hectares is located in the town of Fontenay-pres-Chablis in the heart of the first growths Fourchaume and not far from Grands Crus. This is a typical village of Chablis which was founded in 1130, the Commandery of Knights Templar and its XIIth century church is the oldest of its vineyards. Located in the department of Yonne, Chablis vineyard is midway between Paris and Beaune. The Chablis vineyard occupies the slopes bordering the Serein valley, small river tributary of the Yonne. It is a hilly region whose peaks are often wooded. The production of the Chablis vineyard extends over twenty municipalities.
The Petit Chablis has a frank attack due to the youth of the vines. It is nice and fruity with a little acid side specific to the appellation. It is a harmonious wine and well balanced. A good introduction to the wines of our domain....?click for more details
