The Fourchaume was another of Monsieur Bessinas 2014s that was really on form at Les Grands Jours and again, shows excellent structural reserve for a long life in bottle. The nose jumps from the glass in a deep and classy blend of lemon, grapefruit, paraffin, chalky minerality and just a hint of the woodsy signature note of Fourchaume that will arrive with bottle age. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and racy, with lovely mid-palate depth, a fine girdle of acidity and excellent balance on the long and youthful finish.
