From the chalky soils of Atacama, this chardonnay shows the extreme conditions of one of the driest deserts in the world. Ventisquero grows Tara close to the ocean, a few miles from the Port of Huasco, so the influence of the sea moderates the harsh conditions of the desert, bringing fresh breezes over the vines. This is made with almost no intervention, and minimal filtration, hence the cloudy color and the slightly funky scent. The palate is a crazy blend of creaminess and wild, sharp acidity. Its very long and refreshing flavors ask for sea urchin sashimi.
