Bodegas Faustino was established in 1861 and is one of Spain?s most influential family-owned wineries. It is one of the largest wine estates in the DOCa Rioja, with more than 1,605 acres of vineyards, namely in the prime areas of Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta. Bodegas Faustino wine range spans the four quality qualifications of Rioja DOCa, Joven, Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. They are the largest selling Rioja DOCa Gran Reserva in the world, representing 34% of market share. With a wine maturation program of 40,000 barrels and almost 10 million bottles, Bodega Faustino proudly holds the world?s largest commercial library of museum Faustino I Gran Reservas, dating back to 1955. A consistent recipient of awards and high scores, the Faustino I Gran Reserva 2001 received 97 pts from Decanter and was listed as one of the top wines in the world.
Clean, bright, pale gold yellow. On the nose has marked character of white fruit, such as pear and apple. Floral and herbaceous hints. Good acidity, fresh and balanced on the palate. Nice finish, fruity and medium intensity.
