A new cuv?e. Sitting at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson, this excellent Priss? climat is one of the new vineyards that the Bret brothers recently purchased in partnership with Dominique Lafon. The 40-year-old vines here face due east in a sheltered spot just below a small forest. The vineyard was recently certified as biodynamic and had been organically farmed by Pierre and Nathalie Desroches since 2010. The Bret's manage 2-hectares and it's not hard to see why the brothers are so effusive when talking about this patch of dirt. From deeper soils, this wine has a little more volume than the new Pouilly-Fuiss? (En Chatenay), yet the cut and mouth-watering precision are spot-on. It's juicy and succulent, buzzing with all kinds of fleshy, uplifting sweet and sour citrus and crunchy stone fruits overlaying a taut structure. This rocks (no pun intended).
