All the 2014s I tasted from Macauley were still barrel samples with the exception of the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. This is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Star Vineyard, 12% Merlot from Kenefick Ranch and 8% Petit Verdot from the Oso Vineyard. This rich, concentrated Napa Cabernet Sauvignon tips the scales at a lofty 15.5%, but it?s not the least bit hot. Dense, dark purple, with plenty of cr?me de cassis fruit, blackberry and touches of licorice and incense, it is full-bodied, lush and ideal for drinking over the next 10-15 years.
