Darioush, a winery noted for its Bordeaux style estate wines, implements old world labor-intensive, micro-vineyard management and new world state of the art technology to craft fine wines from its estates located in the appellations of Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder and Oak Knoll. Under the direction of Darioush Khaledi and winemaker Steve Devitt, precision and quality are of the utmost importance at the winery.
Exotic and complex, 2010 Darius II commands attention with dense earthbound elements of dried fig and blueberry, dried provencal herbs, concentrated dark berry and cocoa powder. Higher portions of Mount Veeder Cabernet Franc distinguish this wine from its predecessors. The refined and persistent tannins are ripe and compact, promising long-life and cellar worthy rewards. For long-time collectors, the dense structure and potency of the 2010 Darius II is reminiscent of the 2006 and 2002 vintages.
